Bosch washing machine repair
On a Bosch washer, the AquaShield inlet hose has a small window. If it turns red, the hose has leaked inside itself and shut the water off. That hose is finished and gets replaced, not reset.

Signs a Bosch washer needs attention
Some of these are setup mistakes that show up months later, and some are worn parts. Each line says what Bosch's own manual points to. For causes that apply to any brand, use the washer pages linked below.
Red hose window
AquaShield tripped after an internal hose leak. Flow is cut, and the hose must be thrown out.
E25 or F25
This code concerns the turbidity sensor, the part that reads how cloudy the wash water is.
Violent first spin
The four transport bolts may still be in. Spinning with them fitted can damage the machine.
Slow, weak fill
Bosch wants at least 2.2 US gallons a minute of flow. A partly closed valve or a kinked hose falls short.
Door stays locked
After a power cut, water may still sit in the drum. Use the emergency release, never force the handle.
Room too hot or cold
The manual sets a room range of 41 to 95°F. A shut laundry closet on a hot afternoon is worth checking.
What is behind the Bosch service cover?
A small emergency drain hose and the pump. Pull the hose out and let it run into a container; it can release up to 5.3 gal, so use several. Once it stops, unscrew the pump cover counterclockwise and check that the impeller turns freely and holds no coins or hair ties. Refit everything tight. Then pour about 1 liter of water into chamber II of the dispenser, so the next load does not lose its detergent down the drain.
How much space a Bosch compact needs in a closet
Bosch lists minimums of 0.6 in at each side, 6.3 in on top, 2.5 in behind and 2.4 in in front. A closet door also needs top and bottom openings of at least 63 sq in each. Power must come from its own grounded circuit, not an extension cord, and Bosch suggests a GFCI. In a stacked condo, a burst hose soaks the unit below, which is the case AquaShield was built for.
