LG appliance repair around the island
An LG serial number gives away the appliance's age. It opens with three digits: the first is the year it was made, the next two the month. Model numbers are different. They start with a letter.
Where LG hides the model and serial label
On an LG refrigerator, look on the liner inside the fresh food side: the right wall on most units, the left on newer ones. Front-load washers carry a silver label around the door opening. Top loaders vary more. Try the rear panel, then under the lid, then high on the left side panel. A photo of that label, sent before the visit, tells us the exact model and its age in one step.

Is your LG range part of the 2025 knob recall?
It may be, so check the model before booking any repair. On February 6, 2025, CPSC announced a recall of about 500,000 LG slide-in and freestanding electric ranges whose front-mounted knobs could be switched on by accidental contact. The remedy is a warning label and the Control Lock feature, not a part. Our LG oven repair page has the label spots and the lock steps.
