In 2024 CPSC announced a recall of about 1,120,905 Samsung slide-in electric ranges. Their front knobs could be turned on by a bump from a person or a pet. The fix is a knob lock, not a repair.

Why Samsung wants the code left on the screen
Samsung asks fridge owners not to unplug the unit or press panel buttons to clear a code unless support says to. A cleared code makes the fault harder to find. Family Hub models go a step further: a Self Check run from the Fridge Manager app on the door screen lists current and past codes. Washers are messier. Many faults appear in two forms, so 4E and 4C both mean no fill, and dC can be a door fault on one model and an unbalanced load on another. Write down the exact characters. Then the model number.
