Thermador oven repair for built-in wall ovens
A Thermador built-in oven sets its self-clean anywhere from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes, depending on how dirty the cavity is, and keeps the door locked under a lock symbol throughout. We repair these ovens across Oahu.

When a Thermador wall oven seems to misbehave
Some of what follows is written into the Thermador manual as normal, and some needs a technician. Sorting the two saves a wasted visit. For an oven that will not warm up at all, see oven not heating.
Locked after cooling
The door stays shut after self-clean has cooled. Turn the breaker off for five minutes so the lock resets.
E plus a number
Beeping with an E code is a fault. Press INFO, follow the display, and note the number if it stays.
Flashing during clean
A flashing display with nonstop beeping in self-clean means cut the power to the oven at once.
Fan during preheat
On some models the convection fan runs while preheating. The manual calls that normal behavior.
Fan stops mid-bake
Opening the door halts the convection fan by design, so a pause while you check food is expected.
Heat cuts out
Heating shuts off on its own after a set time unless a cook time or Easy Cook was used.
Which Thermador double ovens were recalled for fire risk?
Six built-in double oven models: C272B, C302B, SEC272, SEC302, SECD272 and SECD302, with serials FD8403 through FD8701. The recall began in June 2007 and was expanded on January 21, 2010, to about 37,000 units. Gaps in the insulation could let self-clean heat set nearby cabinets alight. Those ovens sold from June 2004 to July 2007. If yours is one of those models, check the serial before running another clean cycle.
