Thermador dishwasher repair code by code
StarDry, Thermador's drying option, uses zeolite, a mineral that turns the steam in the tub into heat of up to 176°F. Thermador says it leaves dishes 60 percent drier, plastic too. When drying or washing stops working, we repair it.

Does Oahu water call for softener salt in a Thermador?
Sometimes, and it depends on hardness. Thermador asks owners to set the built-in water softening system for local hardness and keep it stocked with softener salt, because limescale can plug the spray arm nozzles. Oahu's public water has historically tested soft to moderately hard. A USGS review of 1969 to 1985 data found public supplies mostly under 120 mg/L, the top of the moderately hard band. Those numbers are old. Spotty or cloudy glassware, which USGS links to hard water, tells you to raise the setting.

Is my Thermador dishwasher part of the cord recall?
It is if the model starts DWHD64, DWHD65 or DWHD44 and its FD number falls in a recalled span. The 2015 BSH notice took in DWHD64 and DWHD65 from FD 8908 to FD 9312, over a power cord that could overheat. In 2017 the recall grew: DWHD44 joined for FD 9209 to 9403, and the DWHD64 and DWHD65 span stretched to cover FD 9401 to 9501. Outside those prefixes and numbers, the unit was not named.
