Miele washing machine repair
A Miele TwinDos washer asks for your water hardness at setup, then doses UltraPhase 1 at 46, 58 or 70 ml for levels I, II and III. We confirm that setting before we open anything.

Six things a Miele washer may be telling you
Miele washers report trouble in words, not numbered codes. The six situations below come from Miele's own manual. For the causes every brand shares, such as a worn pump or a failed spin, use the problem pages linked further down.
Fault F
A control fault. Power off at the plug or breaker for 2 minutes or more, then restart. Again? Book service.
Drainage fault
Miele names two causes: a blocked drain, or a drain hose mounted higher than the machine can pump.
Slow or no fill
Two screens guard the inlet valve, one in the hose end and one in the valve. Both can clog.
Water in the base
The Waterproof float switch has tripped. It shuts the inlet and pumps the tub out, so find the leak.
Hygiene info
Not a fault. It is a reminder that the drum needs its empty hot cleaning run.
Odd wash results
A TwinDos hardness level set wrong at installation changes every dose the machine gives. Check it in the settings.
Why does a Miele washer start to smell?
Mostly from cool washes and liquid detergent, which Miele says can breed odor inside the machine. Its fix is an empty Clean Machine run once a month at the Sanitize setting of 170°F (75°C), and the display prompts it with Hygiene info. Oahu air makes that habit worth keeping. Windward lowland humidity runs roughly 70 to 80 percent, and most Hawaii homes have no central AC. A wet drum in a closed laundry closet dries slowly. Leave the door open after the last load.
