Does Miele leak protection work with the power off?
Yes, as long as the machine stays plugged in. Miele calls it the Waterproof system, and its dishwashers and washers carry it. Unplug one before a long trip and that guard goes quiet. If the display ever reports a Waterproof fault, Miele's own advice is to shut off the water and call for service. Speed matters here. EPA says spilled water should be dried within 24 to 48 hours to keep mold from starting, and a cabinet floor in a damp Oahu kitchen dries slowly.
Which numbers does a Miele repair start with?
The model identifier and the serial number, marked SN, both printed on the data plate. Miele asks owners to quote those two whenever they need help. On its dishwashers the plate sits on the right side of the door. Send a sharp photo and we can match the version before we come. One thing the plate will not tell you is your warranty length.
