Miele dishwashers

Miele dishwasher repair

A Miele dishwasher wants 7.25 to 145 psi at its supply. Under 7.25 psi it can flag a water intake fault, and above 145 psi Miele calls for a pressure reducing valve. We check the line before blaming a part.

Siphon venting

Why would a Miele drain itself mid-wash?

Because the house drain sits too low. When the drain connection is below the lower-basket roller track with the door open, water can siphon out while the program runs. Miele's answer is a vent valve on the left cabinet wall. Its membrane has to be pierced on those installs. The hose rules matter too. The drain hose is about 5 ft long with a 7/8 in bore, it may be extended to no more than 13 ft, and the lift has to stay under 3 ft.

Drain pump check

How Miele says to clear a stuck drain pump

1

Unplug

Pull the plug or switch off the breaker first. Miele's steps start with the power off, and the pump area holds standing water.

2

Filters out

Lift out the filter combination at the bottom of the tub, then bail the leftover water out with a cup or sponge.

3

Open cover

Press the catch on the pump cover and tip the cover inward. Watch your fingers, since Miele warns that glass splinters collect here.

4

Turn impeller

The impeller should turn by hand with slight resistance. If it is jammed or spins loose, the pump itself needs a technician.

Hookup and features

Either works, up to 140°F (60°C), but Miele suggests cold to cut energy use. That advice carries extra weight on Oahu, where EIA put home electricity at 48.00 cents per kWh in July 2026 against 18.31 cents nationally.
The EnergySaver program needs a hot feed between 113°F and 140°F and shows that message when the water stays under 115°F.
About 20 cycles, though the programs you choose change how fast it runs out.
No. Miele says loose powder or liquid must never go into AutoDos, which is built to draw only from a PowerDisk. The PowerDisk and app control both arrived with the G 7000 line.
Knock twice, quickly, on the top third of the front panel and the door pops open. The feature first appeared on Miele's Generation 6000 integrated models.
02

Care, setup and history

Miele suggests a look about every 4 to 6 months, with the inlet hose, drain hose and power cord checked after installation and then every 6 months. If most of your loads run on programs under 122°F (50°C), run Pots & Pans once a month so odors do not build up.
No. The manual rules that out, and it also says no outlet may sit behind the machine. It ships with a 4 ft cord and a molded plug for a 120 V, 60 Hz, 15 A grounded outlet, and it can be hardwired instead.
BrilliantLight turns itself off 15 minutes after the door opens, so that is normal.
To the G 45 of 1963, which held 12 standard place settings, fit standard kitchen sizes and had a stainless steel wash cabinet. Miele later launched what it calls the first dishwasher with a cutlery tray, a third level above the two baskets.
Possibly. USGS lists spotty or cloudy glassware as a common sign of hard water, and Oahu's public supply has historically tested soft to moderately hard. Our dishwasher not cleaning page walks through the other causes.
